ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner/A5 in S.C. No.216 of 2022 for speedy disposal of the trial. 1/4
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that mother case in S.C. No.144 of 2022 was filed against 38 accused, of which 23 accused pleaded guilty. With regard to the other accused they are contesting the case in S.C. 216 of 2022 in which one of the accused got absconded and the case was again split up to S.C. No.318 of 2022. As regards the present case the case is proceeding against all the accused. There are totally 117 witnesses and 636 documents. Witnesses hail from various places including Government officials, hence it will take sufficient long period to conclude the case provided all the accused cooperate and cross examine the witnesses then and there without seeking time. The contention of the petitioner can be considered and the trial can be concluded within a reasonable time provided all accused co operate in the trial on the side of the prosecution. Hence might not be any delay.
3. The case is primarily on human trafficking. There are totally 117 witnesses and they hail from various places including Government Officials. Hence the trial Court is directed to proceed with the trial in S.C. No. 216 of 2022 and complete the same as expeditiously as possible. 2/4
4. With the above direction, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
