PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent herein to issue patta in favour of the 1/5

petitioner after rectifying the wrong classification about property situated at Trichy District, Trichy Taluk, Panjappur Village, Ayan Punjai, S.F.No.99/1 admeasuring 0.38 cents, in the light of the petitioner's representation dated 27.06.2023 within a stipulated period as may be fixed by this Court.

The petitioner has submitted an application for grant of patta with regard to the land in S.No.99/1 and filed this writ petition that his application dated 27.06.2023 has not been considered so far. 2.Mr.P.T.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents on instructions submits that prima facie materials available to disclose that the land in S.No.99/1 is a Government Tharisu. However, the petitioner has produced certain documents and those documents have to be verified. Only after conducting a thorough enquiry, an order can be passed. Hence, the 2/5

learned Government Advocate requests three months time to conclude the enquiry.

3.Considering the rival submissions made, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to conclude the proceedings as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
