PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent No.1 to ensure that educationally qualified and eligible candidates are appointed as Toll Collectors and Toll Attendants in Ettuvattam Toll Plaza situated at Etturvattam Sattur Post, Virudhunagar District and Kappalur Toll Plaza situated at Kappalur, Thirumangalam, Madurai District, as per the schedule III in reference to clause 12 and 13 of Appendix-IV of the prescription of standard made by the 1st respondent while awarding contract to the 2nd and 3rd respondents with National Highways Act on the strength of his representation dated 10.05.2018.

The present writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus, directing the first respondent to ensure that educationally qualified and eligible candidates are appointed as Toll Collectors and Toll Attendants in Ettuvattam Toll Plaza situated at Etturvattam Sattur Post, Virudhunagar District and Kappalur Toll Plaza situated at Kappalur, Thirumangalam, Madurai District, as per the schedule III in reference to Clause Nos.12 and 13 of Appendix-IV of the prescription of standard made by the first 2/4
respondent while awarding contract to the second and third respondents under the National Highways Act, on the strength of the petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2018.

Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned counsel for the first respondent would submit that much water has flowed under the bridge, by various technological development namely, FASTag services in the Toll Plazas and therefore, nothing survives in the writ petition for adjudication. 3.
