Mr.D.Ghandiraj, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondents.

2. The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction to the respondents particularly the first respondent / the District Collector, Sivagangai District, Sivagangai, to consider a representation dated 09.07.2021 given by the petitioner herein.

3. The husband of the petitioner, namely, Mari, had been swept away in the flood in the Manamadurai Vaigai river on 02.12.2015 and his dead body was recovered on 06.12.2015. The petitioner has been left without any economical support. She has to now look after, as a single mother, a male child and a female child. Her husband was not employed in any permanent employment. The petitioner had been paid an interim compensation of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only). A direction is given to the first respondent, in view of the representation given by the petitioner on 09.07.2021, to issue notice to the petitioner and inquire the petitioner and thereafter, determine the circumstances surrounding the petitioner and take a decision with respect to granting or otherwise of further compensation to the petitioner herein. The first respondent / the District Collector, Sivagangai District, Sivagangai, may bestow his attention to this issue and examine the grievances of the petitioner and pass necessary orders within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the said observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
