ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 528 of BNSS, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned charge sheet in C.C.No.114 of 2004 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ramanathapuram and quash the same.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the State would submit that the trial has been commenced and three witnesses have been examined. He would further submit that there are 172 witnesses.

3. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that they are restricting their prayer that the trial Court may be directed to dispose of the case within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

4. Recording the submission made by the learned counsel on either side and also taking note of the fact that there are 172 witnesses, the learned Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Ramanathapuram, is directed to complete the trial and dispose of the case in C.C.No.114 of 2004 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 2/4
