ORDER

The petitioner had given a representation on 09.11.2021 seeking grant of patta in the name of the petitioner. The land involved measures 60 cents in Survey No.141/2B in Keelaputhaneri Village, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukudi District.

2. The petitioner had been a party to the registered partition deed registered on 04.03.1988 as Document No.227/1988. The petitioner had been allotted 60 cents with the specific boundaries. Now, the petitioner seeks a separate patta with respect to the said land.

3. Since the said land of 60 cents is a part of larger extent of 1.85 acres and since the land is a vacant land, the petitioner may first make an application to subdivide the land, to demarcate and to survey and thereafter only patta can be granted.

A direction is therefore given that the petitioner may give a fresh representation through online primarily to conduct the survey of the lands in accordance with the partition deed and thereafter to demarcate the land and fix the boundary stones and after that exercise is over, file a fresh application through online seeking patta. The said applications may be addressed to the Tahsildar, Srivaikundam Taluk, Thoothukudi District.

5. The petitioner may first file an application for demarcation of the land and thereafter as stated, file further application for grant of patta. The exercise for conducting survey and demarcation may be completed within a period of twelve

(12) weeks from the date of receipt of fresh application from the petitioner. After that exercise is over, the process of granting patta may be completed within a further period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of fresh application for the grant of patta.

6. With the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
