The instant writ petition has been filed by a Checking Inspector who attained superannuation on 31.05.2019. After his retirement, the management and the trade union have entered into a settlement under Section 12(3) of the Industrial Disputes Act on 04.01.2018, conferring benefits prior to his retirement.

2. Seeking the said benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondent on 31.08.2024. since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2/4

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to confer the eligible benefits upon the writ petitioner with 6% interest per annum from the due date till the date of settlement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
