This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in Na.Ka.(A2).3848/2018, dated 26.06.2018, pending on the file of the Sub Divisional Executive Magistrate, Sivagangai, Sivagangai District.

3.The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner has filed this petition to challenge the show cause notice issued against him under Section 107 of Cr.P.C. The said notice was issued in the month of June, 2018. The period for the proceedings under Section 107 of Cr.P.C. is only for one year. Now the period is over and hence, the prayer sought for by the petitioner has become infructuous.
