O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to waive the petitioner's gold Loan No.713988171, dated 27.07.2020, for a sum of Rs.30,000/- and to return 15 grams of gold chain to the petitioner.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she pledged 15 grams of gold chain in the second respondent Society on 27.07.2020 and availed jewel loan for a sum of Rs.30,000/-. Thereafter, she could not redeem her jewel. While so, the Government of Tamil Nadu issued G.O.(Ms.)No.97, dated 01.11.2021, to waive jewel loan up to 40 grams of gold. Hence, the petitioner has made a representation dated 03.03.2022, to the second respondent Society to return her jewels. But till date the petitioner's 2/5

request was not considered. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking direction to the second respondent to waive the petitioner's gold loan of Rs.30,000/- and to return 15 grams of gold chain to her.

Mr.D.Shanmugaraja Sethupathi, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent would submit that the second respondent has forwarded the name of the petitioner for waiver of loan as she is found to be eligible under the Government Order and the petitioner's name will be considered by the Deputy Registrar, the District Central Co-operative Bank, Sivagangai.

Considering the above said submissions, this Court directs the the Deputy Registrar, the District Central Co-operative Bank, Sivagangai to consider the petitioner's name for wavier of gold Loan No.713988171, dated 27.07.2020, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
