Respondents PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus, to directing the respondents 1 to 3 herein to provide protection to the petitioner, his patta land, harvesting the standing crops in S.No.125/4A, S.No.125/8 and S.No.133/4 situated at Pahaiyani and Piranthani Village and Group, Devakottai Taluk, Sivagangai District and amenities therein from the damage being caused by the respondents 5 to 8 and their henchmen, as per the proceedings of the 4th respondent in O.Mu.AA1/5884/2014 dated 22.12.2014 and consequently, direct the respondents 1 to 3 herein to initiate criminal prosecution as per the complaint of the petitioners dated 07.10.2014, 10.11.2014 and 12.01.2015 and maintain law and order.

The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 herein to provide police protection to the petitioner, his patta land and harvesting the standing crops.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that now, almost five years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now.
3.In view of the above submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh complaint, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.
