Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner is working in the grade of Jail Warden. He has been transferred from Nanguneri to Coimbatore Central Prison.

3. The petitioner's counsel states that the petitioner pleads medical as well as domestic reasons for seeking retention in Tirunelveli District. He places reliance on letter No.23847/S/98-1, dated 05.08.1998 issued by the Secretary to Government, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (s) Department, Chennai.

4. The petitioner has no enforceable legal right as such. Therefore, I am not in a position to give any direction for considering the petitioner's request. However, it is open to the competent authority / respondents 1 & 2 to take a call in the matter.
