This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the Insurance amount of Rs.3,76,076.95 to the petitioner which was insured for the rotten crops in Application Receipt Nos:0402332000100838440 and 0402332000100838897 on the land extend of 8 Acres and 59 cents in Survey Nos.327/1, 328/2B, 328/3B, 2/6

237/6, 348/1, 351/10, 430/1,2,3 and 432/1 at Moolipatti Village, Virudhunagar Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.08.2024.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 4. Since no adverse order is going to be passed against the fifth respondent, notice to the fifth respondent is dispensed with. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioner, he has agricultural lands for an extent of 8 acres 75 cents in Survey Nos.327/1, 328/2B, 328/3B, 237/6, 348/1, 351/10, 430/1,2,3 and 432/1 at Moolipatti Village, Virudhunagar Taluk, Virudhunagar District. He is cultivating crops like cotton, corn and other cultivations on the said land and he had applied the insurance for the said crops under the Government sponsored Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana Scheme before the 5th respondent by paying an amount of Rs.3125.96 in Application Receipt Nos: 0402332000100838440 and Rs.2514.96 in Application Receipt No. 0402332000100838897 on 23.09.2020. While so, during 2020, there was a natural disaster in various agricultural places in Virudhunagar District and the 3/6

petitioner's crop were rotten in flood. The respondent No.5 in the application had estimated an insurance amount of Rs.3,76,076.95 for the said crops. When the petitioner approached the respondents for collection of the said insurance amount, they have failed to settle the insurance amount. In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents on 22.08.2024 seeking for the said relief, but the same was not considered by the respondents till date. Hence, the petitioner has filed this Writ Petition.

Considering the limited scope of the prayer, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.08.2024, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
