The petitioner/defacto complainant in Crime No.14 of 2024, has filed this petition, seeking a direction to the respondent police to conclude the investigation within a stipulated time. 2.Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate(Crl.side), who takes notice for the respondent submits that the 1/4

case in Crime No.14 of 2024 was registered on 19.01.2024, under Section 174 of Cr.P.C and they have examined nine witnesses and they are awaiting to receive an opinion from the doctor. The learned Government Advocate further submits that they would file the final report within a period of two weeks.

3.Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Criminal Original Petition is closed, with a direction to the respondent police to conclude the investigation in Crime No.14 of 2024 and file the final report within a period of two weeks as requested by them. Mere filing of final report is not sufficient and it is the responsibility of the respondent police to ensure that the final report is filed in order and it is taken on file by the concerned Court within a period of two weeks. It is also the responsibility of the concerned Courts to take the final reports on file, without delay.
