ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to initiate action against the study centre of the 4th respondent University in Madurai.

2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has deposited a sum of Rs.6,600/- (Rupees Six Thousand and Six Hundred only) towards tuition fee and another sum of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) towards registration charges. However, due to various allegations, the 4th respondent University has chosen to initiate action and has already closed the study centre in Madurai. However, the petitioner now prays that his tuition fee of Rs.6,600/- (Rupees Six Thousand and Six Hundred only) may be refunded to him. Though the study centre has been closed, the 4th respondent University has not yet released the security deposit amount of the study centre. 2/5

3. In view of the above said facts, the 4th respondent University is directed to refund a sum of Rs.6,600/- (Rupees Six Thousand and Six Hundred only) to the writ petitioner within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since the service centre has already been closed, no further orders are called for with regard to the other prayers.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition is partly allowed. No costs.
