PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to grant permission and to provide police protection to conduct the 'Kabaddi' competition on 09.09.2023 Saturday morning from 8.00 a.m to 10.09.2023 Sunday night 10.00 p.m. For the same, we have sought for permission to conduct the Kabaddi competition at Leviyanjipuram, Thirukurungudi Village, Valliyur Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 18.08.2023.

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to grant permission and to provide police protection to conduct the 'Kabaddi' competition on 09.09.2023 Saturday morning from 8.00 a.m to 10.09.2023 Sunday night at 10.00 p.m. at Leviyanjipuram, Thirukurungudi Village, Valliyur Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 18.08.2023.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) on consulting with the respondent Police submitted that if fresh application is filed by the petitioner before the respondent Police and the same will be considered.

3. In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the petitioner to approach the respondent Police afresh and file application by giving all the details in respect of the hygiene, play grounds, accommodation to the players, toilets, medical facilities like ambulance, food, refreshment etc and 2/4

on being satisfied only, the respondent Police are directed to consider the same and grant permission for conducting the Kabaddi tournament on any convenient day after Vinayagara Chathurthi festivals are over, by imposing suitable condition No costs.
