ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the fourth respondent to relocate the transformer erected in front of the petitioner's house situated at Villacode Village, Vilavancode Taluk, Kanyakumari District.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel for the respondents. Perused the records.
3. The petitioner states that he decided to demolish his old house and construct a new one in his patta land. For this purpose, he obtained building approval on 02.09.2016. However, the third respondent, without any prior intimation, suddenly erected a transformer in front of his house, specifically at the rear portion facing the petitioner's entrance. Consequently, the petitioner submitted a detailed representation to the respondents on 18.10.2016, enclosing all relevant documents and requesting relocation of the transformer to another suitable place. As no action was taken, he has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

4. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner produced photographs. A perusal of the photographs clearly indicates that the petitioner's house is directly affected by the placement of the transformer. If the petitioner proceeds with demolition of the existing structure, the transformer will also be impacted. Therefore, there is no impediment to the respondents considering the petitioner's request.
5. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to relocate the transformer, at their own cost, to a location away from the petitioner's building on or before 05.01.2026. The authorities shall ensure that all statutory norms, safety standards, and procedural requirements are duly complied with while relocating the transformer.
6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
7. Post the matter on 05.01.2026 for reporting compliance. 20.11.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet:Yes skn 3/5
