Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order passed by the respondent and quash the same and consequently, direct the respondent to permit the petitioner to attend the written examination and further selection process for the post of Sub Inspector of Police (Taluk) conducted by the respondents. ORDER

The order passed by the respondent, disqualifying the writ petitioner from participating in the written examination, is under challenge in the present Writ Petition.

2.The writ petitioner states that she is fully qualified and eligible for appointment to the post of Sub Inspector of Police (women) in Tamil Nadu Police Services. Pursuant to the recruitment notification issued by the respondent, the writ petitioner had submitted an application and she was disqualified from participating in the process of selection. Thus, the writ petitioner is constrained to file the present Writ Petition. 3.This Court granted an interim order on 22.05.2015, permitting the writ petitioner to participate in the written examination.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondent states that 63 persons were permitted to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/4

W.P.(MD)No.8554/2015 participate in the written examination, pursuant to the interim order granted by this Court. However, out of 63 persons, who were allowed to participate pursuant to the interim order of this Court, only 15 persons were selected and appointed on 23.05.2015. The writ petitioner was an unsuccessful candidate in the process of selection and she had not even cleared the written examination. Therefore, the case of the writ petitioner was not considered for appointment. Even the relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is for a direction to direct the respondent to permit the writ petitioner to participate in the written examination. However, the writ petitioner was allowed to participate in the written examination and she participated and was unsuccessful in the examination.

5.This being the factum, no further consideration is required in respect of the relief as such sought for in the present Writ Petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
