In view of the subsequent development and the fact that the respondents have initiated action for evicting the petitioners, there cannot be a mandamus to direct the second respondent to grant patta to the petitioners. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioners to keep their request alive, in case, they have succeeded in other Writ Petitions challenging the order of cancellation of allotment. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
