This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.231 of 2023 pending on the file of the first respondent police, insofar as the petitioner is concerned. 2.This Court while entertaining this application on 14.09.2023, adjourned the matter to 11.10.2023 and directed the respondent police to proceed with the investigation and not to file the charge sheet. Thereafter, this application was taken up for further hearing today i.e., on 24.07.2024.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that the respondent police had filed the final report before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Palani and the same was taken on file in CC No.229 of 2024. 4.The learned Counsel for the petitioner by referring the order dated 14.09.2023 stated that the final report was filed as against the direction of this Court by order dated 14.09.2023. 2/5

5.This Court perused the earlier order passed on 14.09.2023. 6.When the application was taken up for hearing for admission on 14.09.2023, this Court has adjourned the case to 11.10.2023 and in the meantime, the respondent police was directed not to file the final report. Therefore, it cannot be stated that the respondent police has prohibited from filing the final report. Since the interim order is granted for a limited period, this Court is not inclined to consider the submission made on behalf of the petitioner.

7.Since the final report has not been filed, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report in the manner known to law. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
