O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents Police to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct protest near Tenkasi Bus Stand on 25.08.2023 at 04.00 p.m.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the persons belonging to Mukulathur Community intend to stage a Dharna against the Police alleging that the Police have been unnecessarily registering the case against the said community people.

3. The learned Government Advocate (criminal side) appearing for the official respondents submits that during the years 2006 and 2007, there were heavy communal clashes and a number of crimes including seven murder cases have been reported through fight between this Community and other Communities. Now the people in that vicinity are living peacefully and in case the protest is permitted, again it may likely raise the same tension in the society and therefore, the request of the petitioner has been declined by way of an order dated 23.08.2023 and 2/5

the copy of which is being served to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

4. If the petitioner is aggrieved of the excessiveness by the Police and if the cases are registered unnecessarily, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Court for suitable direction. The representation of the petitioner has already been disposed of, hence, no further orders can be passed.

5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
