Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners application dated 18.02.2025 seeking to cancel the patta issued in the name of respondents 2 to 11 and issue patta in the name of the petitioner for the land comprised in Survey No. 80/4 to an extent of 2 acres and 80/5 to an extent of 1 acre 98 cents situated at Anaiyur, Bit-I, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District and to dispose the same within a stipulated time period. The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the first respondent to consider his representation, dated 18.02.2025 seeking cancellation of patta issued in the name of the respondents 2 to 11 and issuance of fresh patta in the name of the petitioner for the land comprised in S.No.80/4 with an extent of 2 acres and S.No.80/5 with an extent of 1 acre 98 cents in Anaiyur, Bit-I, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District. 2/5

2. Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the first respondent. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Since no adverse order is passed against the respondents 2 to 11, notice to them is dispensed with.

3.According to the petitioner, the above mentioned property was given in favour of one Andi S/o. Sinandhan as inam land. The petitioner is claiming himself as a descendant of said Andi. It is further stated by the petitioner that during UDR updation, the patta has been wrongly issued in the name of the private respondents. Therefore, the petitioner submitted instant representation, dated 18.02.2025 before the first respondent seeking cancellation of patta issued in the name of the private respondents and issuance of patta in his name, but the same has not been considered. Hence, he has come before this Court. 4.The learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for the first respondent would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with the law. 3/5

5.In the view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.02.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the petitioner, private respondents 2 to 11 herein and other interested parties. 6.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of.
