Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue equivalent certificate to the petitioner based on G.O.Ms.No.254, Public and Administrative Department, dated 22.10.1998 and G.O.Ms.No.72, Higher Education Department, dated 30.04.2013 that the petitioner's degree of B.Sc., Biotechnology obtained from 2nd respondent University is equivalent to B.Sc., Botony.

ORDER

Heard Mr.M.Gnanagurunathan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Shanmugaselvam, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has made a representation to the University to issue equivalent certificate to the petitioner based on G.O.Ms.No.254, Public and Administrative Department, dated 22.10.1998 and G.O.Ms.No.72, Higher Education Department, dated 30.04.2013, to the effect that the petitioner's degree of B.Sc., Biotechnology obtained from 2nd respondent University is equivalent to B.Sc., Botony, but the same has not been considered till date. Therefore, he approached this Court.

W.P(MD).No.14934 of 2018 3.In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks, taking note of the aforesaid Government Orders.

4.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
