ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired Selection Grade Assistant from the respondent transport corporation, seeking a mandamus for payment of interest for the belated disbursement of the terminal benefits. 2.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner has retired from service on 30.05.2023 as Selection Grade Assistant. However, his retirement benefits were disbursed only after a period of 12 months. Seeking interest, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondents on 30.08.2024. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.Considering the above said facts, the respondents transport corporation are directed to pay 6% interest from the due date till the date of payment within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/5

4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
