This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by way of Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to consider the petitioner's complaint, dated 24.07.2023, filed against her husband and in-laws.

According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, on account of disputes between the petitioner and her husband, harassment made by her husband and in-laws, the petitioner has moved an application before the respondent Police on 24.07.2023 and the same was registered as C.S.R.No.422 of 2023, however, so far, no action has been initiated against the husband and family members and no case is registered. Therefore, sought for suitable directions.

Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on the other hand, submits that, in C.S.R.No.422 of 2023, an enquiry has been initiated and in the meanwhile, the husband of the petitioner has filed H.M.O.P.No.81 of 2023 and also the petitioner has filed D.V.C.No.7 of 2023 to the respective Courts and during the course of enquiry on 27.07.2023, both the parties have approached the Court and it is submitted further that the Social Welfare Officer has examined the petitioner and the report has not been received by the respondent Police so far. It is further submitted that the enquiry is still pending soon after receipt of the report from the Social Welfare Officer, appropriate action will be taken in respect of the petition filed by the petitioner. 2/4

In view of the submissions made by both sides, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to complete the enquiry in respect of C.S.R.No.422 of 2023 as expeditiously as possible not later than two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
