Respondents PRAYER: Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Habeas Corpus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the body or person of the petitioner's daughter namely Selva Maria Fathima D/o.Raja aged 17 years before this Court and to hand over the custody to the petitioner.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.S.RAMESH, J.) When the petitioner's minor daughter, who was pursuing B.Com (CA) course, had gone missing from 15.08.2023, she had given a complaint to the 2nd respondent police, which was registered in Crime No.778/2023 under the caption, 'girl missing'. In this background, the present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed.

2.On our directions, the 2nd respondent police had secured the girl and produced her before us. We had interacted with the petitioner as well as her daughter. The petitioner's daughter expressed that she now intends to live with her mother and continue her college education. In view of the same, no further orders are required to be passed in this petition. Accordingly, this petition is closed.

3.Before parting with this case, we appreciate the efforts taken by Mr.G.Pethuraj, Inspector of Police, Keeraithurai Police Station, Madurai, in effectively conducting the investigation, securing the petitioner's daughter and producing her before us.
