This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction to the first respondent/the Commissioner of Geology and Mining, to expedite the appeal preferred by the petitioner under Section 36(c)(2) of the Tamil Nadu Minor Minerals Concession Rules, 1959. The Appeal Petition was filed on 05.04.2019.

2.Heard Mr.V.Angusamy, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Ghandiraj, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.Since the appeal is now pending before the first respondent, it may not be appropriate to enter into any discussion on the merits or demerits canvassed either by learned Counsel for the petitioner or by the learned Special Government Pleader. I am confident that the first respondent would be aware of the rules guiding the principles and the manner in which the appeal petition should be disposed of.

4.Without any further discussion, a direction is given to the first respondent to dispose of the said appeal on or before 30.04.2022. Let it be disposed of by giving due opportunity to all the parties concerned.
