O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed by a Assistant Manager, who retired from service on Voluntary Retirement Scheme on 30.04.2022, seeking a Mandamus to pay interest on the delayed disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the petitioner, he had obtained voluntary retirement on 30.04.2022 and the terminal benefits were released in May 2023. Seeking interest for the belated disbursement, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondent on 18.08.2023. Though the said representation has been acknowledged by the authorities, yet they have not passed any orders. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
