ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking to transfer the investigation in Cr.No. 496 of 2022 dated 10.10.2022 pending on the file of the 2nd respondent to the 3rd respondent or any other competent authority on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 24.07.2023.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner, who is a senior citizen, is the defacto complainant, on whose instance, an FIR in Crime No.496 of 2022 was registered for the offence under Section 379 of IPC with respect to snatching of a thali chain. However, since there is no progress in the investigation, this petition came to be filed.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that the investigation is pending.
4. Heard either sides and carefully perused the materials placed before this Court.
5. On perusal of the records, the second respondent police is directed to conclude the investigation as expeditiously as possible within a period of four 2/4
weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and also to appraise the progress of the investigation to the first respondent every Friday. The first respondent is also directed to monitor investigation from time to time.
6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
