PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide "A" Class facility in view of Rule 225 of Tamil Nadu Prison Rules, 1983 to the petitioner, namely, Karthikeyan, S/o.Dhas @ Thulasidhas, Life Convict, bearing Convict Prisoner No.21122, PID No.13185, confined at Central Prison, Trichy, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2025. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by A.D.JAGADISH CHANDIRA,J.) This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to provide "A" Class facility, in view of Rule 225 of Tamil Nadu Prison Rules, 1983 to the petitioner, namely, Karthikeyan, S/o.Dhas @ Thulasidhas, Life Convict, bearing Convict Prisoner No.21122, PID No.13185, confined at Central Prison, Trichy, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 02.05.2025.

2.Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstance of the case and the limited relief sought for in the writ petition and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 02.05.2025 strictly in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
