Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court, to issue Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to release the petitioner by name Nallammal, Wife of Chinnusamy, aged about 44 years, now confining at Trichy Special Prison for Women under premature release on the basis of G.O.Ms.64, Home (Pri IV) Department, dated 01.02.2018 or G.O.Ms.No.488, Home (Pri IV) Department, dated 15.11.2021 or under advisory board proceedings under Rule 341 of the Tamil Nadu Prison Rules or any other appropriate order or Government Scheme in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. This writ petition was filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner wherein she sought for premature release.
2.Heard Mr.R.Alagumani, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.A.Thiruvadikumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor produced letter No.1248/bgh.5/2021, dated 27.09.2022 and submitted that the detenu viz., Nallammal, W/o.Chinnasamy, was released vide G.O(Ms)No.612, Home (Pri-IV) Department, dated 24.09.2022.
4.Recording the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, this Writ Petition is closed.
