Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing respondent Corporation to make necessary entries and record the name of petitioner Tmt. T. Sudha and her daughter G.S.Pushpadeepa in the Service Record of the deceased husband P. Ganesan, St. No. 65199, Cumbum II Branch and also settled the terminal benefits, pensions and other benefits to the petitioner to the respondent corporation on the basis of the petitioner representation dated 25.04.2025, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent Corporation to make necessary entries and record the name of petitioner Tmt. T. Sudha and her daughter G.S.Pushpadeepa in the Service Record of the deceased husband P. Ganesan, St. No. 65199, Cumbum II Branch, as his legal heirs and also settle the terminal benefits, pensions and other benefits to the petitioner, based on the petitioner's representation dated 25.04.2025, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner's husband, who was working as Conductor in the respondent Corporation, died on 03.03.2025. He had not mentioned about any details of his family members in the service register and hence, 2/6

pensionary benefits have not been disbursed to the petitioner. Hence, this writ petition came to be filed with the aforesaid prayer.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that during the service of the petitioner's husband, he did not mention about his legal heirs in the service register and thereby, the terminal benefits were not disbursed to the petitioner. He further submitted that there was some dispute between the petitioner and her mother-in-law.

5. The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation submits that after conducting proper enquiry, the respondents will pass orders for grant of terminal benefits.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, the respondent Corporation shall conduct enquiry by summoning the petitioner and other legal heirs of the deceased employee, including the mother of the deceased (petitioner's mother-in-law) and disburse the terminal benefits in favour of the eligible persons as per the consensus between the parties by following the procedure contemplated under the 3/6

applicable Corporation Rules. The aforesaid exercise shall be completed within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
