By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus to direct the respondent to take into account the specialist training undergone, tests passed and other merits on the basis of service records, including AIR and the seniority in the immediate feeder category etc., while revising seniority of personal in the promoted categories viz. Havildar, Sub Inspector and Inspector by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 10.07.2025.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he made a representation for revision of seniority and promotion vide representation dated 10.07.2025. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that the authority competent to consider the representation of the petitioner is the Inspector General of Police, Armed Services, Tamil Nadu Special Police, Kilpauk, Chennai, whereas without impleading him, the writ petition has been filed.

5. In view of the said submission, the Inspector General of Police, Armed Services, Tamil Nadu Special Police, Kilpauk, Chennai, is suo motu impleaded as respondent No.2.

6. Considering the limited scope of the matter, without adverting to the merits or the contentions made, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 2nd respondent/Inspector General of Police, Armed Services, Tamil Nadu Special Police, Kilpauk, Chennai, to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt 3/5

of a copy of this order. The petitioner shall also annexe a copy of the representation along with this order in order to enable the 2nd respondent/Inspector General of Police, Armed Services, Tamil Nadu Special Police, Kilpauk, Chennai, to pass orders.
