PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the 4th respondent to provide patta in Survey No.484/1B with an extent of 978 square feet in Door No.323, Sathiya Nagar, in E.B.Connection No.05.539.015.1222, House Tax Assessment No.1943 in Ward No.4, Thummakundu Panchayat, Megamalai Village, Andipatti Taluk, Theni District, based on petitioner's representation, dated 22.07.2022.

ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the fourth respondent to issue patta in Survey No.484/1B with an extent of 978 square feet in Door No.323, Sathiya Nagar, Ward No.4, Thummakundu Panchayat, Megamalai Village, Andipatti Taluk, Theni District, based on her representation, dated 22.07.2022.
2. According to the petitioner, she has been in possession and enjoyment of the subject property for more than 18 years, by putting up a residential house thereon. On the strength of her long possession, she
submitted a representation before the fourth respondent on 22.07.2022, seeking issuance of patta. The same has not been considered. Hence, she has come before this Court.
3. The Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents, submits that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered, subject to eligibility.
4. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the fourth respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 22.07.2022, and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
5. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. 25.06.2025 NCC :
