Prayer :- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd Respondent to collect the cost of lands from the Petitioner and issue patta in Survey No.240/2 to an extent of 32.5 Ares of lands in Thenur Village, Allavayal, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District which was in the continuous possession of the Petitioner.

ORDER

The Petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second Respondent to collect the cost of lands from the Petitioner and issue patta in his name in respect of the property situated in Survey No.240/2 to an extent of 32.5 Ares of lands in Thenur Village, Allavayal, Ponnamaravathi Taluk,

2. Heard Mr.D.Senthil, counsel for the petitioner; and Mrs.K.Malathi, Additional Government Pleader, for the respondents. With the consent of both the counsel, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

3. According to the petitioner, the subject property was purchased by his father from one Ramayee under registered sale deed dated 15.05.1986. She herself purchased the property from one Kumpayapillai under registered sale deed dated 04.05.1978. Since the property is described as Anaadeenam land in the revenue records, the petitioner submitted a representation on 16.07.2025 before the official respondents expressing his readiness to pay the cost of the land and sought for issuance of patta. The same has not been considered. Hence, he has come before this Court.

4. Learned Additional Government Pleader who takes notice for respondents 1 to 5 would submit that the subject land is classified as Anaadeenam land in the revenue records and the request made by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 16.07.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a

copy of this order, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and other interested parties.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of, as above. No costs.
