2. The petitioners were holder of passport bearing Nos.L2330706 (petitioner in WP(MD)No.21671 of 2025) and L2330722 (petitioner in WP(MD)No.21672 of 2025) which were valid for the period between 26.06.2013 and 25.06.2023. The first respondent has not processed the passport on account of the FIR against the respective petitioners.

3. The learned Government Advocate for the second respondent in WP(MD)No.21671 of 2025 submits that the petitioners were accused persons 3/6

in Crime No.578 of 2024 as Accused Nos.1 and 2. In the said case, the action was dropped as a mistake of fact on 30.10.2024.

4. He further submits that the petitioner in W.P(MD)No.21672 of 2025 was also arrayed as Accused No.1 in Crime No.2540 of 2020 for offences under Sections 406, 420 and 506(i) of the IPC. However, action was dropped.

5. In view of the above, there can be no impediment in directing the first respondent to process the petitioners' passport application.

6. Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to process the passport application of the respective petitioners and issue passport to the petitioners as expeditiously as possible within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
