O R D E R

This Court directed the respondent to consider the diminishing value of the building and reassess the property tax for the subsequent years.

2. The Learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that based on the order passed by this Court, the Revenue Assistant had inspected the property and had submitted a report dated 21.02.2024, wherein it is stated that there is no change in the pathway and commercial nature of the building was not disturbed and further adjacent property was also assessed in the same manner. Hence, it is not necessary to give any benefit for the construction of the bridge. Infact, there is no diminution in the value at all.

3. Therefore, this Court is of the considered opinion, after spot verification only the respondent has come to such conclusion and the said process is coming within the domain of the Corporation. Therefore, this Court is convinced that the order passed by this Court is complied with. 2/4

4. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition is closed. Liberty is granted to the writ petitioner to challenge the order, dated 21.02.2024. 22.11.2024 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes KSA To Rengarajan, The Assistant Commissioner, Madurai Corporation, Madurai.
