ORDER

This writ petition has been filed in the nature of a mandamus seeking a direction to the first respondent, the Revenue Divisional Officer, Periyakulam, Theni District, to dispose of an application filed by the petitioner was 11.08.2022.

2.In the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it has been stated that the grandfather of the petitioner, Pommaya Thevar, was having landed property at S.No.191 at Allinagaram Village, Theni Taluk and District, measuring 1 acre and 20 cents. The grandfather and the father of the petitioner had sold 1 acre in favour of one Ayyammal on 19.04.1996. The remaining 20 cents had been retained by the father of the petitioner. The father had executed a settlement deed in favour of the petitioner on 21.07.2010. The petitioner claims to be in possession. However, in the Town Register, the name of one Venkatesa Gopalan was found. The petitioner had given a representation to the Revenue Divisional Officer, the first respondent. Notice had been directed to the second respondent. There has been no appearance on behalf of the 2/4_________

second respondent. A direction is given to the first respondent to examine the representation given by the petitioner herein ensure that notice not only to the petitioner but also to the said Venkatesa Gopalan and obtain a report from the Tahsildar, who is impleaded as third respondent and pass appropriate orders on or before 31.08.2023.

3.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
