ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.ARUL MURUGAN, J.) We have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.M.Sarangan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, 5 & 6 and Mr.T.Senthilumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 4 & 7.

2. The writ petition is filed seeking for a Mandamus to direct the third respondent to recommend the petitioner's village to the first and second respondents to include in the Gazette Notification for the purpose of conducting Vadamadu Manjuvirattu scheduled to be held on 17.08.2025.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3, 5 & 6 by bringing to the notice of this Court vide proceedings dated 22.12.2023 submitted that in respect of conducting any Jallikattu events (which also includes Manjuvirattu / Vadamaadu / Eruthu Vidum Vizha) are permitted to be conducted in Tamil Nadu during January to May every year as per the provisions of the Act. Further, the guidelines set out in the proceedings makes it clear that wherever the villagers decided to conduct such event, the organizers 3/6

shall obtain prior permission from the Government through the District Collector. In this regard, a request for conducting of such event in writing shall be submitted well in advance 30 days prior to the event date along with proper documents mentioning the proposed place and date of conduct of the event to the District Collector.

In the instant case, when the event is to be scheduled on 17.08.2025, the organizers are submitted an application only on 29.07.2025 without giving sufficient time as mandatory in the proceedings for considering that request. Further, it is brought to the notice of this Court that the application of the petitioner has been considered and the same has been rejected on 11.08.2025.

5. In view of the above facts, the application of the petitioner has already been considered and rejected, no further order is required in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. No costs. (S.M.S., J.) & (G.A.M., J.) 12.08.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No am 4/6
