Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the petitioner's husband by name Vitti @ Shamraj(C.P.No.4544) son of Ponraj, aged about 57 years now lodged and confined at Central Prison, Madurai have competed the more than 22 years of actual sentence on the basis of the Humanitarian Ground in Government Letter M.S.No.1358, Home dated 10.11.1994 and on the basis of G.O.Ms.No.488 (Home Prison-IV) Department dated 15.11.2021 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.05.2022 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

This writ petition has been filed by the wife of the detenu sought for premature release.
2.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor produced a copy of G.O.(Ms)No.798, Home (Prison-IV) Department, dated 31.10.2022 and submitted that the detenu has been released.
