ORDER

Heard Mr.R.P.Karuppasamy, learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner and Mr.R.Raghavan, learned Government Advocate for the Respondents.

This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to permit the petitioner to set up a salt pan in Survey No.1024, 1025, 1026 and 1028 in Vaippar Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Tuticorin District, by considering the representation of the Petitioner dated 22.05.2025 and to pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. 2/6

Mr.R.P.Karuppasamy, learned counsel for the Petitioner, submits that the Petitioner has submitted representation dated 22.05.2025 in respect of his grievances and claim before the Respondents. The copy of the representation dated 22.05.2025 given to the Respondents is found at Page Nos.12 & 14 of the paper book. He further prays this Court that a positive direction may be given to the 2nd Respondent to decide the representation of the Petitioner dated 22.05.2025 on merits and in accordance with law.

Mr.R.Raghavan, learned Government Advocate submits that since the Petitioner has submitted a representation on 22.05.2025 to the Respondents, this Court may issue a positive direction to the 2nd Respondent to consider and decide the representation dated 22.05.2025, on merits and in accordance with law within a specified time frame fixed by this Court.

After hearing the submissions made by the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the Respondents 3/6

and without going into merits of the case, this Court directs the Petitioner to serve a certified copy of this order along with the representation dated 22.05.2025 on the 2nd Respondent and on receipt of said representation along with the certified copy of this order, the 2nd Respondent shall decide the Petitioner's representation dated 22.05.2025 and pass a reasoned and speaking order on merits, in accordance with law, within a period of three weeks therefrom. The 2nd Respondent shall communicate the decision taken by him to the Petitioner through Registered Post with Acknowledgement Due (RPAD) within a period of two weeks from the date of passing the order/decision.

With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
