PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to enhance compensation amount for acquisition of the petitioner's lands bearing Survey No.541/3, an extent of 0-68.50 Ares - Patta No. 1162 and Survey No. 541/2B, an extent of 0-48.5 Ares - Patta No.1175 situated at Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District by the 2nd respondent for laying West By-Pass Road of Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District by considering the petitioner representation / appeal dated 04.07.2023.

The petitioner's land has been acquired by the second respondent. The petitioner with a grievance that it has not been adequately compensated by the respondents has filed an appeal before the first respondent/the District Collector,Virudhunagar and also filed this writ petition for a Mandamus directing the first respondent to enhance the compensation amount for the petitioner's land, by considering his appeal, dated 04.07.2023.

2.Mr.P.T.Thiraviam, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents submits that the petitioner has preferred the appeal only on 04.07.2023 and it will be disposed of within a reasonable time.

3.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent/ the District Collector,Virudhunagar to consider the appeal preferred by the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
