PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 6 to grant police protection for the peaceful conduct of temple festival of Puratasi Month, including Puravi Edupu Function and all other traditional functions at Sri Kaveri Ayyanar Kovil, Alagunatchiamman Kovil and Pandi Vinayagar Kovil from 16.09.2024 to 24.09.2024 at V.Karisalkulam Village, Thiruchuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District by considering petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2024. ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking orders to direct the respondents 1 to 6 to grant police protection for the peaceful conduct of temple festival of Puratasi Month, including Puravi Edupu Function and all other traditional functions at Sri Kaveri Ayyanar Kovil, Alagunatchiamman Kovil and Pandi Vinayagar Kovil from 16.09.2024 to 24.09.2024 at V.Karisalkulam Village, Thiruchuli Taluk, Virudhunagar District by considering petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2024. 2/6

2. Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents 1, 2, 5 and 6 and Mr.M.Muthumanikkam, learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) takes notice for the respondents 3 and 4. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner would submit that in order to conduct temple festival from 16.09.2024 to 24.09.2024, they sought permission by giving a representation dated 29.08.2024 before the respondent police and that since no order has been passed till now, the writ petitioner was constrained to approach this Court.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 1, 2, 5 and 6 would submit that the writ petitioner's representation is pending before the sixth respondent.

5. Considering the above, the sixth respondent is directed to consider the writ petitioner's representation dated 29.08.2024 and take a 3/6

decision within a period of two days from today (11.09.2024).

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
