PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent herein to put the symbol of Fish in the entrance tower of Madurai Railway Junction in order to propagandize the fame of the ruler of Pandiya Regime, based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2019. [Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.] The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to put the symbol of fish in the entrance tower of Madurai Railway Junction, in order to propagandize the fame of the Ruler of Pandiya Regime, based on the petitioner's representation dated 15.07.2019.
2. Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner, in his representation dated 15.07.2019, has sought for installation of a fish statue in Madurai Railway Station, but, in the present writ petition, he has sought for putting up the symbol of fish in the entrance tower of Madurai Railway Junction, which is different from the relief sought for in the representation dated 15.07.2019.
3. In view of the above submission of the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, the writ petition is dismissed leaving it open to the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the authority concerned for redressal of his grievance in the manner known to law, if he is so advised.
