PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 8 to stop the quarry operations of the 9th respondent in Survey No.47/4 situating at Sathiyamangalam Village, Pudukkottai based on the petitioner's representations dated 15.09.2021 and 19.09.2022.

[Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 8 to stop the quarry operations of the 9th respondent in Survey No.47/4 situating at Sathiyamangalam Village, Pudukkottai, based on the petitioner's representations dated 15.09.2021 and 19.09.2022, respectively. 2.Mr.R.Ragavendran, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents 1 to 8.
3.According to the petitioner, the 9th respondent is conducting quarrying operation in the abovesaid survey number by using heavy explosives to blast the stones, which spread over the agricultural lands in and around the area. Hence, the petitioner made several representations, lastly on 19.09.2022. Since the same has not been considered so far, this Writ Petition is filed. 4.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 8, on instructions, would submit that the illegal quarrying operation by the ninth respondent has been stalled and as on date, there is no quarry operation in the aforesaid survey number. 5.Recording the aforesaid submission, this Writ Petition is closed.
