This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction particularly, to the second respondent/Tahsildar, Melur, Madurai District, to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.08.2021 and to grant patta in the names of the two petitioners with respect to the land and house bearing Door No.1/196A in Patta No.413, S.No.159/28 at Velliyankundram Village, Madurai District.
2.Heard Mr.V.Santhakumaresan, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Shanmugavel, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.It is stated by the petitioners that they are both coparceners and first cousin. Their fathers were brothers. It is claimed that they jointly owned 97 sq.ft of house site in Patta No.413 in S.No.159/28 at Velliyankundram Village, Madurai District. They have also put up a small house in that particular place. Since their fathers have died, now they claim patta to be issued in their joint names. It is also stated that their mothers also died and sister is married.

W.P.(MD)No.21549 of 2021 4.It is only appropriate that the second respondent issues notice not only to the petitioners, but also to anybody and everybody concerned before grant of patta in the names of the petitioners, examine the documents produced, make necessary enquiry and thereafter pass necessary orders. The entire exercise must be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5.With the said observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
