ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to provide marks to the petitioner under the PSTM category in the common recruitment for the posts of Gr.II Police Constable, Gr.II Jail Warden and Fireman 2020. 1/3

2.The petitioner has taken part in the Common Recruitment for the Posts of Gr.II Police Constable, Gr.II Jail Warder and Fireman, 2020 by applying under the Persons Studied in Tamil Medium [PSTM] Category. She has not been selected, as she has secured 55 marks against the cut off marks of 57 under PSTM category.

3.During the last hearing, the learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has applied under the PSTM category and she claims that she would have scored marks more than the cut off marks. Therefore, he requested for a copy of her answer sheet to establish her claim.

4.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner has applied under the PSTM category and she has secured 46 marks in the written examination and 9 marks in the physical endurance test, in total, she has secured 55 marks. The cut off marks under the PSTM category is 57 marks. Since the petitioner is not falling under the zone of consideration, she was not selected. Further as per the request of the petitioner before this Court, a copy of her answer sheet [OMR sheet] was provided to her. However, after receiving it she has not raised any dispute.

5.This Court has paid its anxious consideration to the rival submissions and perused the materials placed on record. 6.The petitioner has appeared in the selection process for appointment to the post of Gr.II Police Constable, Gr.II Jail Warder and Fireman, 2020 and she has applied under PSTM category. According to the learned Additional Advocate General the cut off marks under the PSTM category is 57 marks, whereas the petitioner has obtained 46 marks in written test and 9 marks in physical endurance test and in total she has obtained 55 marks only. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition. 7.In the result, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
