ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed, invoking Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking orders, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to permit the petitioner to participate in the Temple festival of Pookalaimman kovil Kuthiraieduppu Vila and Ayyanar Temple Mullaiparai Thiruvizha festival is schedule on 10.09.2024 and 11.09.2024 situated at Pillur Village, Sivagangai District and consider the petitioner's representation, dated 02.09.2024 and 05.09.2024.
2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that the complaint given by the petitioner was referred to the RDO and is pending in LIR No.60 of 2024. He would further submit that there existed rival claim with regard to the temple festival and that 2/4
therefore, the third respondent was constrained to refer the matter to the RDO.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the third respondent and also perused the records.
4. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer, is directed to convene a peace committee meeting by issuing notice to the petitioner, private respondents and the other rival claimants and take a decision in accordance with law by today (ie.,10.09.2024) itself.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
