For Petitioner : Mr.A.Vadivel For R1 to R3 :Mr.B.Thanga Aravindh Government Advocate (Crl.side) O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure seeking for a protection to the petitioner considering the representation of the petitioner dated 21.08.2023.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner, who belongs to the forward community, married to a person belonging to the scheduled caste, thereby, the respondent No.4, who is the father of the petitioner, and the petitioner's mother came to the petitioner's house and gave a life threat, therefore, the representation was sent to the respondents, however, no action stated to have been taken.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents submitted that originally the mother of the petitioner gave a 2/5

complaint to the South Gate Police Station, Madurai alleging that her daughter/petitioner is missing. Basing on the complaint, a case has been registered as 'Woman Missing' and subsequently during the course of enquiry though notice has been given to the petitioner, she has not appeared for an enquiry. Soon after receipt of the representation from the petitioner on 21.08.2023 the police have immediately rushed to the place and found the petitioner was not available. The police made an enquiry with the mother-in-law and brother-in-law of the petitioner in the presence of the Village Administrative Officer and found that the petitioner was not available.

4. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that in this part of the stage honour killing are reported and therefore, out of fear the petitioner left the place.

5. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) has fairly conceded that the police are ready to give protection to the petitioner as sought for. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner 3/5

to intimate the police to her whereabouts on which the respondents police are directed to give the police protection.
