This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the brother of the detenu on the ground that the detenu Ragul Gandhi, has been illegally detained by the respondent Police.
2. Mrs.A.Kalaiselvi, [Cell No.94863 83581] the Sub Inspector of Police, Thirumangalam Taluk Police Station is present before this Court
today and she instructed the learned Additional Public Prosecutor on the facts of the present case.
3. Mr.A.Thiruvadi Kumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the detenu was involved in a theft case and based on the complaint given, a FIR has been registered in Crime No.216 of 2022 on the file of the third respondent for an offence under Section 379 IPC. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor further submitted that the detenu was arrested at 11.00 p.m. and he is now being interogatted and he will be produced before the concerned Judicial Magistrate for remand.
