The instant writ petition has been filed by a Gangman of the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited, challenging the order of transfer from Ramanathapuram Electricity Distribution Circle to Sivagangai EDC on administrative grounds.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, in case, if the petitioner is transferred from Ramanathapuram Electricity Distribution Circle to Sivagangai EDC, his seniority and promotional opportunity would get affected.

Per contra, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submits that the seniority or alleged promotional opportunities of the writ petitioner would not get affected. He further relies upon the Board proceedings dated 06.03.2019, wherein it is specifically stated that the promotion from Gangman to Senior Gangman is only based upon the years of service and not based upon the seniority. All further promotions up to the post of Chief Gangman is also based upon the years of service put in by the concerned Gangman.

4. In such circumstances, this Court do not find any merits in this writ petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 12.09.2024 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No ebsi To
